Human Rights Pulse, “The Passion Factor: Pursuing a career in Human Rights”
Human Rights Pulse is an online platform that brings together human rights practitioners, policymakers, campaigners, and students to raise awareness of current human rights issues around the world and to promote solution-oriented discussion.
I feel passionately about helping the new generation of human rights professionals as they start out in their career.
I am proud to host my podcast series, “The Passion Factor: Pursuing a career in Human Rights”, in which I interview mid-career and senior human rights professionals about their own career, the ups and downs and invite them to offer advice to the younger generation about taking those first steps in the human rights sector.
Here’s what Diana Bernadini, European Law student at Maastricht University and co-founder of INTERNAction has to say about the podcast series:
“I have virtually met Vicki through her series “The Passion Factor: Pursuing a Career in Human Rights” on the Human Rights Pulse podcast, where she interviews Human Rights professionals about how their career journey. Being myself a law student, I am always told that Human Rights protection is an admirable goal, but that I will never be able to make a living out of it. This, I discovered to be completely untrue, thanks to Vicki’s podcast, a pill of energy and extra motivation: it reminds me why I started studying law in the first place, why I am working hard and why I keep being true to myself and my passion to work in this field. I recommend Vicki’s podcast and mentorship to any law student or young professional thinking of taking the Human Rights path. And, if like mine, your parents are concerned about your future, share it with them: they will understand your why behind the choices you are taking!“
